Part 4,
finishing up
Now all
that's left is to animate the pod door opening,
but when I rotate it, it's just spinning
around it's center. The door hinge is at
the bottom. The Pivot Point needs to be
moved. So with the door selected, as described
in my tank boning tutorial, I go to the
heirachy tab, hit 'Affect Pivot Only' and
moved the pivot to the foot of the door.
Now the door opens as it should, and using
the key info rollout again I make the door
ease from and to it's start and finish keys.
(note to adjust the rotation key info I
had to press the Rotation button just above
the Key Info rollout, as it's pivot's position
hadn't changed in the animation, the key
info for position was blank.)
And
that's it. Animation done. The things we've
covered here that you need to remember to
make an animation: Frames settings, Keys
- setting, moving and manipulating.
That's pretty much all there is to it :)
